Pupil Voice and Responsibility
Our schools exist for children, to ensure everyone can thrive. Our children make decisions over play equipment, food menus, resources, our learning environments, our community commitment and enrichment.
Pupil voice comprises of a panel of children who work closely with school leaders to make a difference to Foxhills and beyond. Every class votes for their class representative who, once elected, must fairly express the views, ideas and opinions of all children.
Pupil voice exposes our children to Britain’s democratic parliamentary system. Our pupils' voice shape decision-making and influences choices made by school leaders.
Recently, we have worked with our local Parish Council - Open Spaces committee - where our pupil voice has collaborated with Councilors to re-design our local recreation park. We had great fun sharing our opinions and making suggestions, and the process supported our children to make decisions based on the interests of not only themselves but future generations of children. This experience promoted fundamental British values by providing our children with chances to participate fully, as active citizens, making a positive contribution to the wider world.
